When you first begin going to yoga classes it can be difficult to know exactly what is involved in all of the different styles and what is best for you.
It is a great idea to try a few styles, as each can support us in different ways and combined provide a holistic approach to your wellness.
There are many different types of yoga, known as the wheel of yoga all underpinned by morals, ethics and principles – so all yoga has common threads running throughout.
Some are more physical, others more meditative. Styles can be fluid whilst others bring sound or chanting into the practice.
As with all things the teacher will bring their own experiences and teaching experiences to the class, and so within each type of yoga you will see differences.
