Steady Souls

Do you identify as someone who is managing a chronic (long lasting) physical or emotional illness?  Do you want to explore and practice new ways of managing your condition(s), using proven natural and holistic approaches?

Welcome to Steady Souls

Steady Souls is a self-referring empowering health scheme that aims to help you manage all aspects of your wellbeing through engaging in holistic therapies, (including movement-based yoga therapies, talking therapies, psychological and physiological therapies), while providing a safe and held space in which you can meet others experiencing similar health challenges.

The courses, weekly activities and 1:1 therapies we offer as part of this scheme all support you in building stronger resilience, developing self-awareness skills, and practising compassion, allowing you to understand and even accept feelings and emotions.

As a member you can access bespoke courses designed to support you managing chronic illness.  We also offer a reduced rate on our 1:1 therapy sessions and concession rates for all of our weekly classes.

  • Access to our online portal where you are able to book onto free courses and workshops
  • 60-minute health therapies for £25
  • Concession rate of £6 for all our weekly classes
  • A free cup of tea each time you come and visit us (if you pop the kettle on!)

Here are some practices our courses incorporate. Some courses will contain several non-medical holistic health practices, others will be more specific in their teachings.

  • Mindfulness and Meditation: Mindfulness and deeper meditation will be incorporated into many of the courses we run.  The practice fosters confidence by cultivating self-awareness, reducing stress, and promoting a more positive self-perception.  It also helps pain management and relaxation.
  • Yoga Therapies: Our Yoga therapy based courses offer gentle, adaptive practices that help manage pain, improve mobility and support emotional wellbeing for those with chronic illness. Through breath work, relaxation and a supportive community you will gain tools for holistic healing and enhanced quality of life.  For example, chair yoga, joint freeing yoga and yoga to support eating disorders.
  • Hypnotherapy: Guided sessions focused on pain relief, fatigue reduction, stress management and sleep improvement. They can facilitate therapeutic change and support ongoing symptom management.
  • Compassionate Listening: A core skill used in many forms of psychotherapy that supports the development of self-awareness, emotional relief, improved communication and coping skills.
  • Gong Baths: Support deep restoration. A gong, and sometimes percussion instruments are sounded while you lie comfortably on your back.  It is a form of meditation, and helps to increase mindfulness as you are encouraged to be completely present in the moment and focus on the sound.

A consistent wellbeing routine helps you become more resilient to stressful situations.  All sessions are designed to aid improved well-being with numerous health benefits – importantly they slow the parasympathetic nervous system, deeply supporting rest and allowing individuals to feel calm and happy.  1:1 therapy can also give you the space and time to work through things we need too.  But don’t just take our word for it, here’s what some of our long standing members have to say…

“It’s brilliant that I’ve been able to try so many different therapies and treatments that I wouldn’t have been able to afford, including massage, reiki and lymphatic drainage massage”.

“The team at Shanti Bee treat the whole person and not just the symptom, I’ve tried CBT and many other therapies over the years to help treat insomnia, anxiety and pain but none of them have been as effective as the therapies and classes I’ve been able to do in the Steady Souls programme”.

“The women’s circles opened me up to journaling to help me better understand my emotions, and breathing techniques to help manage anxiety“.

“I have trouble sleeping and rarely get a full night sleep due to anxiety and nerve pain but after attending a sound bath I had a full 9 hours of sleep.  I also done a 4-week Vagus nerve course and noticed a big improvement in the quality and duration of my sleep after each session”.

“The meditation classes have been excellent for my mental health when I’ve been unable to do any physical activity”.

We’ve included suggested donation amounts below, however please know any amount you choose to give – big or small – is truly appreciated and will be put to good us
