One To One Yoga with Amanda
My 1:1 sessions offer bespoke physical assessment and yoga practices to address individual needs to relieve pain, aid rehabilitation and improve physical and mental wellness. Each session is designed to give the client a practical treatment plan with adaptations that provide and individual programme that clients can follow at home and improve through regular 1:1 sessions. These sessions are completely individual focused.
Yoga therapy is the application of yoga practices to alleviate physical and mental health conditions with the view of promoting self-care and encouraging overall well-being. Whilst the practice of yoga in general aims to cultivate the body and mind and hence has the potential for therapeutic effects, in yoga therapy I use specific yoga practices and their known benefits to help alleviate or improvement mental and physical ailments.
My regular yoga classes work with a range of yoga styles from Hatha to Yin and Slow Vinyasa. These sessions, whilst containing adaptations for each participant, are designed to meet the needs of a group through a range of yoga sequences.
With over 20years practice and teaching, I have combined my skills as a yoga practitioner with Personal Trainer, Fitness Instructor and Sports Massage Therapies to provide a fully anatomy and physiology based treatment plan.
For example, I have a proven track record and success working with osteoarthritis, sciatica and palliative care patients, and hold my GP referral certificate for working with a range of clinical conditions and special populations through Social Prescribing providers.
Having worked as a vulnerable adult advocate, I also apply the principles of breath work, integrating mindful practice and psychology of self-care to guide and empower individuals.
I recommend a minimum of six sessions one to one, following that I often suggest monthly catch-ups and attendance at a weekly class. Sometimes sessions can go on for much longer, depending on your aim.
